Rayees Jamil

In many parts of the ancient world, the birth of a girl was considered a burden. Some societies denied women their rights, while others treated daughters as symbols of shame. Islam came as a divine revolution, restoring the dignity, honor, and rights of girls and women.

More than fourteen centuries ago, Islam condemned female infanticide and declared that every child, whether male or female, is a gift from Allah. The Holy Qur'an reminds believers that children are among the greatest blessings bestowed upon humanity.

Islam grants the girl child the right to life, education, inheritance, protection, and respect. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized the importance of raising daughters with love and care, promising immense rewards for parents who nurture and educate them properly.

As a father, I often reflect upon these teachings whenever I look at my beloved daughter, Hiya Eimaan binti Rayees Jamil. She is not merely a child in our home; she is a reminder of Allah's mercy, a source of happiness, and a trust entrusted to us by the Almighty. Her smile inspires hope, her innocence teaches sincerity, and her presence strengthens our faith in a brighter future.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) demonstrated profound love and respect for his daughter, Sayyidah Fatimah (RA), setting a timeless example for all parents. Through his actions, he taught that daughters deserve honor, affection, and equal opportunities to flourish.

Islam also emphasizes education for both boys and girls. History is rich with examples of Muslim women who became scholars, educators, and leaders. This proves that Islam encourages the intellectual and moral development of girls and recognizes their invaluable role in society.

Unfortunately, some communities still struggle with cultural practices that limit the potential of girls. Such discrimination stems from tradition, not from Islam. The true teachings of Islam call for justice, equality, and opportunity for every child.

Today, empowering the girl child means providing quality education, healthcare, safety, and a nurturing environment. When families invest in their daughters, they invest in the future of society itself.

May every daughter be cherished, protected, and empowered. May parents recognize that raising a righteous daughter is among the greatest blessings and responsibilities bestowed by Allah.

To my daughter, Hiya Eimaan binti Rayees Jamil: "May Allah make you a source of goodness, knowledge, faith, and happiness for humanity. May you grow with wisdom, confidence, and strong character, becoming a light for your family and society."

A society that honors its daughters builds a future founded on compassion, justice, and progress.

"Educate a daughter, and you empower generations."
