IUST to Host J&K Science Congress 2026, Invites Researchers and Academicians
Awantipora, August 20: The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir Science, Technology & Innovation Council (JKSTIC), Government of Jammu & Kashmir, will host the Jammu & Kashmir Science Congress 2026 from September 29 to October 1, 2026, at the university campus.
The three-day Congress, themed “Science, Innovation and Emerging Technologies for Sustainable and Viksit J&K,” will bring together researchers, innovators, policymakers, industry representatives and students from across the country to discuss emerging scientific and technological solutions for sustainable development.
More than 500 scientists and researchers are expected to participate in the event.
IUST has invited researchers, academicians and scientific professionals to actively participate and contribute their research and perspectives. The Congress will feature plenary lectures by eminent scientists, technical sessions, panel discussions, exhibitions, start-up showcases, innovation displays and policy dialogues.
The thematic tracks will cover a wide range of contemporary areas, including Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Biotechnology, Drug Discovery and Healthcare Innovations, Advanced Materials and Nanoscience, Sustainable Energy, Himalayan Ecosystem Resilience, Water Security, Earth System Sciences, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Industry 5.0, Biodiversity Conservation, Environmental Sustainability, Sustainable Food Processing, Physical and Natural Sciences, among others.
The Congress will also include a dedicated school-level science outreach programme, featuring competitions, exhibitions, poster and model presentations and other interactive activities aimed at encouraging scientific curiosity and innovation among school students across Jammu & Kashmir.
The event is expected to provide a platform for meaningful academic exchange, collaboration and dialogue on the role of science and innovation in building a sustainable and developed Jammu & Kashmir.
