Desh Bhagat University’s School of Nursing Observes World Breastfeeding Week -2026
Mandi Gobindgarh, August 11: The School of Nursing, Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh, observed World Breastfeeding Week 2026, under the theme “Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works.”
The week-long celebration aimed to raise awareness about the importance and benefits of breastfeeding for mothers and babies and to highlight its vital role in promoting maternal and child health. A series of engaging activities, including a symposium, quiz competition, poster-making competition, and Power Point presentations, were organized to enhance students’ knowledge, creativity, communication skills, and understanding of breastfeeding practices.
The successful organization of the programme was made possible through the constant encouragement and visionary guidance of the leadership of Desh Bhagat University. The School of Nursing expressed its sincere gratitude to Dr. Zora Singh, Hon’ble Chancellor, Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor and Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, for their invaluable support and commitment to academic excellence, healthcare education, and community well-being.
Special appreciation was extended to Dr. Prabhjot Singh, Deputy Director, School of Nursing, and Dr. Lovesampuranjot Kaur, Principal, School of Nursing, for their gracious presence, encouragement, and continued support.
