May 29: The Inter-Zonal District Level Volleyball competitions for Under-14 and Under-17 Boys concluded today at MA Stadium, Jammu amid enthusiastic participation from various zones of the district. The tournament was organised by the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports, J&K, providing a competitive platform for budding volleyball players to display their talent and sportsmanship.
The competitions were conducted under the supervision of the technical committee comprising Naresh Kumar, Jagjeet Singh, Amit Sharma, Mulkh Raj, Taran Pal Singh, Ravinder Sethi, Harjot Khour, Rekha Devi, Shubham and other officials of the department.
In the U-14 boys category quarterfinals, Zone Jourian defeated Zone Bishnah by 2-0, Zone Marh outplayed Zone Arnia by 2-0, Zone Khour beat Zone Mira Sahib by 2-0, while Zone Bhalwal registered a 2-0 win over Zone Satwari. In the semifinals, Zone Marh defeated Zone Jourian by 2-0 and Zone Khour overcame Zone Bhalwal by 2-1 sets.
In the final, Zone Khour emerged champions by defeating Zone Marh by 2-0. Zone Jourian secured third place after beating Zone Bhalwal by 2-0.
In the U-17 boys section, Zone Satwari defeated Zone Jammu by 2-0, Zone Akhnoor beat Zone RS Pura by 2-0, Zone Khour overcame Zone Mira Sahib by 2-0 and Zone Jourian defeated Zone Bhalwal by 2-0 in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, Zone Satwari beat Zone Akhnoor by 2-0, while Zone Jourian defeated Zone Khour 2-0.
In the final, Zone Jourian clinched the U-17 title with a convincing 2-0 victory over Zone Satwari. Zone Khour secured third position by defeating Zone Akhnoor by 2-0.
