Sgr Police attach 10 properties of notorious drug peddlers

Srinagar, Jul 20: Continuing its relentless crackdown on drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Srinagar Police has attached 10 immovable properties worth approximately ₹8 crore belonging to notorious drug peddlers under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

A police spokesperson, in a statement issued here, said that, acting in accordance with Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, Police Station Nowhatta attached the following properties identified as illegally acquired assets generated through proceeds of narcotics trafficking:

1. Sajad Ahmad Sheikh – A double-storeyed residential house on 6 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹85 lakh, attached in connection with FIR No. 55/2024.

2. Mst. Hajra Begum – A double-storeyed residential house on 4 marlas, valued at approximately ₹55 lakh, attached in connection with FIR No. 13/2022.

3. Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh @ Gulloo – A four-storeyed residential house on 4 marlas, valued at approximately ₹75 lakh, attached in connection with FIR Nos. 41/2021, 11/2018, and 06/2013.

4. Fahmeeda @ Famba – A single-storeyed residential house on 4 marlas, valued at approximately ₹55 lakh, attached in connection with FIR No. 32/2019.

5. Abdul Ahad Sheikh – A double-storeyed residential house on 5 marlas, valued at approximately ₹75 lakh, attached in connection with FIR Nos. 32/2019, 40/2019, and 48/2019.

6. Gh. Nabi Sheikh – A three-storeyed residential house on 5 marlas, valued at approximately ₹90 lakh, attached in connection with FIR Nos. 57/2020, 46/2005, and 06/2006.

7. Altaf Ahmad Sheikh – A double-storeyed residential house on 4.5 marlas, valued at approximately ₹90 lakh, attached in connection with FIR No. 57/2025.

8. Hyder Ali Wani – A double-storeyed residential house on 5.5 marlas, valued at approximately ₹85 lakh, attached in connection with FIR No. 57/2025.

9. Shakeel Ahmad Sheikh – A three-storeyed residential house on 6 marlas, valued at approximately ₹95 lakh, attached in connection with FIR No. 57/2025.

10. Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh – A double-storeyed residential house on 7 marlas, valued at approximately ₹95 lakh, attached in connection with FIR No. 52/2019.

“The attached properties, with a cumulative estimated value of approximately ₹8 crore, have been identified during investigation as assets acquired through proceeds generated from illicit narcotics trafficking. The attachment has been carried out in accordance with the provisions of the NDPS Act to dismantle the financial infrastructure of drug networks and deprive offenders of the benefits derived from illegal drug trade,” the spokesperson said.

Police said they remain steadfast in its commitment to the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan and will continue to take stringent legal action against drug peddlers and all those involved in the narcotics ecosystem. “The general public is urged to continue supporting the anti-drug campaign by sharing any information related to narcotics trafficking with the nearest police station or through the dedicated helpline, with the identity of informants to be kept strictly confidential,” the spokesperson said.
