Srinagar, May 16: Ahead of the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, employees working under the National Health Mission (NHM) have appealed to the Jammu and Kashmir Government for the immediate disbursement of their pending salaries, which have reportedly remained unpaid for nearly three months now.

The employees expressed serious concern over the delay, stating that the non-payment of wages has pushed thousands of NHM workers and their families into severe financial distress at a time when preparations for the festival are underway. They said that despite rendering essential healthcare services across hospitals and health institutions, their genuine concerns continue to remain unattended.

The aggrieved employees have urged Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Health Minister Sakina Itoo, and the authorities of the Health and Medical Education Department to intervene personally and ensure the release of salaries before Eid so that employees may celebrate the festival with dignity and without financial hardship.

The employees further stated that timely disbursement of salaries is essential not only for their livelihood but also for maintaining the morale and efficiency of healthcare workers who continue to serve the public tirelessly.
