New Delhi, October 10, 2026: The positive response from sections of the Muslim community to Imam-e-Hind and Chief Imam of the All India Imam Organisation, Dr. Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi’s appeal to stay away from the proposed Delhi protest on October 10 has been welcomed by Professor Jasim Mohammad, Secretary General of the Forum for Muslim Studies and Analysis.
Prof. Jasim Mohammad said that members of the Muslim community, particularly young people and mosque imams, demonstrated restraint by taking the appeal seriously and prioritising peace and social harmony. He noted that the response reflected the importance of thoughtful decision-making and responsible citizenship during sensitive situations.
He said Chief Imam Dr. Ilyasi’s message encouraged Muslims not to act under emotional or political pressure but to consider the wider interests of society. According to Prof. Mohammad, the community’s response helped promote a constructive atmosphere and reduce the possibility of unnecessary tension.
Forum for Muslim Studies and Analysis expressed gratitude to Chief Imam Dr. Ilyasi, adding that the Muslim community’s response demonstrated how responsible leadership and public cooperation can contribute to national unity, communal harmony and peaceful coexistence.
