Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Ground Forces Commander Mohammad Karami on Monday said Iranian forces were on high alert and ready to deliver a "decisive response" to any threat, warning against what he described as potential "miscalculations" by foreign adversaries and armed groups.
In a post on X, Karami said the Hamzeh Seyyed al-Shohada Headquarters in western Iran was backed by intelligence capabilities, operational preparedness and modern technology, enabling it to respond to any threat.
"The fighters of the Hamzeh Seyyed al-Shohada Headquarters, backed by intelligence, operational readiness, and leveraging faith, technology, and modern sciences, are prepared to deliver a decisive response to any threat," he wrote.
Karami also warned against any "miscalculation by extra-regional enemies or terrorist groups," without identifying any specific country or organisation.
The remarks come amid heightened tensions between Iran, the United States and Israel following weeks of military confrontations and increasingly hostile rhetoric.
On Saturday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told his Saudi counterpart that any "aggression" by the United States or Israel—or participation by regional countries in such an attack—would draw a "decisive response," according to Iran's foreign ministry.
Separately, Iran's acting Defence Minister Majid Entezami called for the country's defence industry to intensify preparations for potential future conflicts by focusing on four key areas: space-based technology, intelligence superiority, a "defence economy" and the resilience of industrial infrastructure.
Entezami said Iran should accelerate innovation and military preparedness despite claiming its adversaries had failed to achieve their strategic objectives. He added that expanding domestic production of cost-effective missiles, drones and other military equipment capable of rapid deployment would remain a strategic priority.
Iranian officials have also stepped up warnings over regional security, cautioning neighbouring countries against allowing their territories, resources or infrastructure to be used for military operations targeting Iran. They have also warned that any attack on the country's critical infrastructure would be met with retaliation.
