Honorable Justice Sanjeev Kumar Visits Kupwara District Court, Assures Bar of Due Consideration

KUPWARA, AUGUST 21: Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Justice Sanjeev Kumar, visited the District Court Complex Kupwara on Friday, where he reviewed the functioning of the District Judiciary and interacted with judicial officers and members of the Bar Association Kupwara.

Justice Sanjeev Kumar took stock of the functioning of subordinate courts, pendency of cases, infrastructure requirements and other issues concerning the administration of justice in the district.

During the visit, members of the Bar Association Kupwara welcomed the Acting Chief Justice and apprised him of various demands and concerns facing the legal fraternity. Issues relating to court infrastructure, facilities for advocates and litigants and other requirements for the smooth functioning of the District Courts were brought to his notice.

Justice Sanjeev Kumar gave a patient hearing to the Bar representatives and assured them that their genuine concerns would receive due consideration. He also emphasised the importance of close coordination between the Bench and the Bar for ensuring efficient administration and timely delivery of justice.

The Bar Association was represented by President Shabir Ahmad Bhat, Vice President Ishfaq Nazir Pir, General Secretary Waseem Sajad Malik, Joint Secretary Adam Malik, Treasurer Najmu Sakib and Coordinator Sufia Mohiuddin.

The Chief Justice was accompanied by senior judicial officials, including Registrar General Mohinder Kumar Sharma, Registrar Judicial Khurshid Ul Islam, Director J&K Judicial Academy Naseer Ahmad Dar and Registrar Vigilance Rajiv Gupta.

The Principal District & Sessions Judge Kupwara, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara and Senior Superintendent of Police Kupwara, besides judicial officers and other officials, were also present during the visit.

The interaction provided an opportunity to bring issues concerning the District Judiciary and the legal fraternity directly before the High Court leadership, with particular emphasis on strengthening judicial infrastructure and ensuring accessible, speedy and effective justice for people in the border district of Kupwara.
