Srinagar, Jul 17: Downtown Heroes Football Club has achieved a significant milestone after its academy received accreditation from the All India Football Federation (AIFF) for the 2026-27 season. The accreditation, as per a statement, recognises the club's sustained efforts in youth development, coaching standards and grassroots football. With the recognition, Downtown Heroes FC joins the list of AIFF-accredited academies, reinforcing its commitment to nurturing young football talent in Jammu and Kashmir.
The club Chairman Itfan Shahmiri, described the achievement as a "proud moment", stating that the accreditation is the result of years of commitment, hard work and dedication towards developing football at the grassroots level.
The AIFF academy accreditation programme evaluates clubs on various parameters, including infrastructure, qualified coaching staff, player development pathways, governance and overall operational standards.
