Budgam, May 24: A 12-year-old girl who had reportedly gone missing from Galwanpora village in central Kashmir’s Budgam district was found dead in a nearby field on Sunday morning, officials said.
According to officials, the minor had gone missing on Saturday, following which family members and local residents began a search operation in the area.
The girl’s body was later recovered from a field close to the village, sending shockwaves across the locality and plunging the area into mourning.
Meanwhile, police have reached the spot and taken cognizance of the incident.
Legal proceedings have been initiated and further investigation is underway.
