IDPL Kabaddi Boys Championship Begins in Kupwara with Thrilling Victories

Kupwara, 26 August 2026: The Inter-District Provincial Level (IDPL) Kabaddi Championship for Boys commenced today at 9:00 AM at BHSS Nagri, Kupwara, witnessing enthusiastic participation and spirited competition among teams from across the Kashmir Division.
The opening fixtures featured intense Kabaddi action, with young athletes displaying skill, agility, strength, tactical awareness, discipline and excellent team spirit.

1. Kupwara vs Pulwama
Kupwara – 63 points
Pulwama – 55 points
Result: Kupwara defeated Pulwama by 8 points.
2. Anantnag vs Ganderbal
Anantnag – 26 points
Ganderbal – 19 points
Result: Anantnag defeated Ganderbal by 7 points.
3. Budgam vs Srinagar
Budgam – 48 points
Srinagar – 18 points
Result: Budgam defeated Srinagar by 30 points.
The matches witnessed high-intensity competition, with players showcasing commendable raiding, defending, tackling and strategic gameplay, while maintaining the true spirit of sportsmanship.

On the occasion, DO Police Post Nagri Malpora, Mr. Mohammad Akbar, appreciated the efforts of all officials, coaches and participating players for maintaining discipline and ensuring the smooth conduct of the championship. He also conveyed his best wishes to all the participating teams for the ongoing competition.
All the selectors deputed by the Directorate of Youth Services & Sports, J&K, for the U-19 Kabaddi championship were present at the venue and actively performing their assigned responsibilities, contributing to the transparent and professional conduct of the event.
District Youth Services & Sports officer Kupwara, Mr. Sheikh Shafqat Iqbal, expressed his gratitude to the coaches, officials and participants from the 10 participating districts for their cooperation and sportsmanlike conduct. He assured the visiting teams that the championship would be conducted in a professional, disciplined and well-organised manner, providing all participants with a positive sporting experience.
Activity Incharge, Mr. Mohd. Amin Lone, also extended his appreciation and gratitude to all officials, coaches and participants for their cooperation, discipline and valuable contribution towards the successful conduct of the championship.
